Room at various angles.

...Because Edgeworth is very well-off, there will be no question that he will request as much from the castle as he can to feel 'at home.' Therefore, his room will be inspired by a room of one of his favourite hotel suites - the Hazlitts in Soho, London. The hotel room is a bit smaller than it appears in the picture, but is extremely richly furnished and decorated. However, with opulence comes a price, as usual, and because of Edgeworth's fastidious tastes, the castle will inflict upon him at least one temporary loss per month. Unbeknownst to Edgeworth, of course.

At any given time, there will be a book or two on the bed, and others placed sporadically at various crevasses within the room.  There is another, smaller partition of the room containing a couch, small table, and chair. There are a pair of small speakers, a heated blanket, a small fridge with at least two wine bottles, and a heating apparatus that doesn't emit microwaves. There's also a burgundy/blue chess set. There's no television, no futon, and of course, no Oldbag . There is a black box on the desk that requires not only a key to be opened, but a sliding puzzle to be solved. There's also a medium-sized kitchen. The bathroom is nothing particularly fascinating, as he doesn't spend enough time in there to feel the need to expend too much effort in decorating it, and it is much smaller than one may expect after seeing the room. There is, however, a clean bathtub lined with a few red/gold, unused candles.

I'll put it in Layman's terms. I bathe my dog. You are not my dog. Therefore, I have no interest in bathing you. Off with you, then. Enjoy your 'feminine' bath.

[As soon as Edgeworth is out of the bathroom, Phoenix shuts the door. Finally some privacy! And he strips and sinks into the bath, finding it to be even more comfortable and relaxing than he expected... even if it does smell like a lady.

After a while, he can feel his head getting strangely heavy. Figuring it's some combination of the heat and steam from the water and the thick fragrances in the room, he moves to stand up to go and crack the door open a little bit. Unfortunately, standing up from the hot water is just what his blood pressure does not need at the moment, and he swoons back into the tub before blacking out. Again. Because he is pathetic.]

[Oh, and guess who was napping in the bathroom's linen closet this whole time?

Eventually, she awakens and notices a...stranger in the bath? That's not Edgeworth for sure. She growls initially, suspecting an intrusion, but then she quickly realizes that he is no threat - mostly because he's not even conscious.

So she begins to bark in an attempt to wake him up.]

[Her fruitless efforts alert Edgeworth, who, not even aware that she was in the bathroom in the first place, was understandably a bit startled by that, alone. He cracks open the door...very cautiously as not to alarm Phoenix. He calls through the crack of the door. ]


...Veritas? What are you doing in there? Come out at once!


[But she simply continues to bark.]


...Wright? Is everything alright in there?



[When he hears nothing, the realization hits him like a barrel of rice. He swings the door open, and sees Phoenix's limp body. Why, if his arms were not sprawled out like that, he probably would have slipped right in and drowned.]

[Edgeworth rushes to the lifeless Wright, scooping Wright's head under his forearm and patting his cheek with the other hand.]


Wright? Wright? Wake up! Wright!


[...Veritas places her forepaws on the rim of the tub, wagging her tail and watching, curiously.]

oh sick phoenix icon, you're back

[takethat]

...huh?

[He blinks a few times, gazing around at the room and the light and Edgeworth and just everything that's suddenly a lot more confusing than it was a few moments before.]

Edgeworth...?

[And then he leans over the side of the tub and dry-heaves.]

[Pats his back, gives a little circular rub, and pats again, twice. His head swivels towards Veritas]


...Bring me a towel.


[His hand remains rested on Phoenix's back.]

[After a few more heaves, his nausea settles down, and he looks up at Edgeworth once more.]

...who are you talking to?

[And then, realization strikes.]

Don't touch me, I'm naked!

[Startled a bit, he jumps slightly at that sudden outburst.]

...Is that honestly your biggest concern right now?

[takethat]

Yes! ...Why are you even in here?

[Sorry, Edgey. He doesn't know he fainted.]

Auuuugh. [He throws his head upward and sighs exasperatedly.]

...I think it is time for you to vacate the bath.

[takethat]

What did I do?

[He catches sight of the Growlithe.]

What the hell is that?!

[cantacquityou]

That's not important right now.

[She hobbles over cheerfully with the towel in mouth.]


You passed out.


[Edgeworth takes the towel, offering it to Phoenix.]


...Here.

[takethat]

What...?

[He distantly takes the proffered towel.]

I passed out? Huh... I remember I was going to open the door and let some of the steam out of here...

[He turns his head away, allowing Phoenix the time to cover up.]


That was nearly 15 minutes ago. I heard the door crack open then.

[takethat]

[He climbs out of the tub and wraps the towel around his waist, and then promptly sits on his knees on the floor.]

That bath had some weird effects on me... the room is spinning and I see a monster dog thing...

Veritas. Go to the kitchen, please.


[The growlithe leaves, and Edgeworth crouches down besides Phoenix.]


...I see why I was instructed to keep an eye on you.

[takethat]

[His face is flushed far more from embarrassment now than from the heat of the bath.]

Yeah, yeah. I know. I'm a big wimp.

[cantacquityou]

I was unaware that recovering from a week-long coma somehow makes you a, 'wimp.'


[He eases himself up and towards the closet, pulling out a white robe. He returns, crouches once more and drapes it over Phoenix's shoulders.]

[takethat]

...thanks.

[He pulls his sleeves through the robe and ties it up.]

I guess I see why you're on babysitting duty for me now, too.

[He won't admit this, but it's dawned on him that he could've, you know, drowned from passing out in the tub alone like that, and it's a sobering thought.]

[cantacquityou]

[Oh, great. Because Edgeworth was JUST about to remind him.]


...And if it were not for that, 'monster dog-thing,' you may as well have drowned in there.

[takethat]

I'm aware of that.
[And he'd rather not think about it.]








So tell your creepy dog I said thanks.
