Room at various angles.

...Because Edgeworth is very well-off, there will be no question that he will request as much from the castle as he can to feel 'at home.' Therefore, his room will be inspired by a room of one of his favourite hotel suites - the Hazlitts in Soho, London. The hotel room is a bit smaller than it appears in the picture, but is extremely richly furnished and decorated. However, with opulence comes a price, as usual, and because of Edgeworth's fastidious tastes, the castle will inflict upon him at least one temporary loss per month. Unbeknownst to Edgeworth, of course.

At any given time, there will be a book or two on the bed, and others placed sporadically at various crevasses within the room.  There is another, smaller partition of the room containing a couch, small table, and chair. There are a pair of small speakers, a heated blanket, a small fridge with at least two wine bottles, and a heating apparatus that doesn't emit microwaves. There's also a burgundy/blue chess set. There's no television, no futon, and of course, no Oldbag . There is a black box on the desk that requires not only a key to be opened, but a sliding puzzle to be solved. There's also a medium-sized kitchen. The bathroom is nothing particularly fascinating, as he doesn't spend enough time in there to feel the need to expend too much effort in decorating it, and it is much smaller than one may expect after seeing the room. There is, however, a clean bathtub lined with a few red/gold, unused candles.

[And he just sits down on the floor and leans against the wall. He really can make himself comfortable anywhere, after all.]

There is a perfectly good chair right there, my good man. It's a bit more comfortable than the floor, in my honest opinion.



[Well, since Phoenix is...sitting, he hands him one of the beers.]

[He shrugs and takes the beer.]

You can have the chair. Or Vera could?

[Vera takes that suggestion immediately and hops up on the chair.]


...Well, that's that.



[He sits down beside Phoenix, leaning against the wall, with a can in his hand.]

[He shuts his eyes and, for just a little while, doesn't speak.]










It's nice and quiet out here, huh? No wonder you like it...

Indeed. None of the castle's nonsense... I can almost rest assured that I won't be turned into some animal, or wake up with lobsters attached to my wrists. I guess I may still be within the realm of the castle's magic, but from what I have heard, those who stay in the City tend to not have as many problems as they do as when staying at the castle. I've been wonderfully relaxed here, although restless, but then again, I was restless there, as well. I've entertained the thought of finding a job to keep me busy. I've been in good company a couple of times, but by accident. The townspeople are rather distant and oddly forgetful, so my only means of social interaction was with encounters with residents from the castle. It's been sufficient. Veritas has been keeping me great company, otherwise.

Hm... I don't think I could do that for weeks. But I think for a day or two? I could get into that kind of break from... everything insane.

[He shakes his head and takes a swig of beer.]

Things do get pretty nuts around the castle all the time, after all. And the constant coming and going gets old, too.

Yeah, you know. People come and then they go. As soon as I get to be friends with someone, it seems like they're gone.

I see. That's unfortunate. Most friendships are ephemeral, anyway.

I'm just going to try to keep from getting cynical about it.

As you should, for I will always top you when it comes to cynicism.

I'm not going to argue that at all.

Still, it's no fun to suddenly lose a friend.

I don't feel twenty-six.

...Well, it's probably because you're still twenty-five, according to this place.

Actually! I was born in the afternoon! So technically I've been twenty-six for a while already!

...I'm referring to the fact that we apparently don't age, here...

Oh, that.

[He's more or less giggling... six beers in a couple of hours may be a bit much.]

...You're in a good mood.

[takethat]

...well, I just decided to stop letting you bother me, and enjoy my beer.

[And he holds up his can in a "cheers" motion.]

That's a good way to think. I couldn't agree more.





[Takes the can from him.]

[Reaches for it!]

Oh dear. And here I thought you were offering it to me. [Holds it up high.]
