Room at various angles.

...Because Edgeworth is very well-off, there will be no question that he will request as much from the castle as he can to feel 'at home.' Therefore, his room will be inspired by a room of one of his favourite hotel suites - the Hazlitts in Soho, London. The hotel room is a bit smaller than it appears in the picture, but is extremely richly furnished and decorated. However, with opulence comes a price, as usual, and because of Edgeworth's fastidious tastes, the castle will inflict upon him at least one temporary loss per month. Unbeknownst to Edgeworth, of course.

At any given time, there will be a book or two on the bed, and others placed sporadically at various crevasses within the room.  There is another, smaller partition of the room containing a couch, small table, and chair. There are a pair of small speakers, a heated blanket, a small fridge with at least two wine bottles, and a heating apparatus that doesn't emit microwaves. There's also a burgundy/blue chess set. There's no television, no futon, and of course, no Oldbag . There is a black box on the desk that requires not only a key to be opened, but a sliding puzzle to be solved. There's also a medium-sized kitchen. The bathroom is nothing particularly fascinating, as he doesn't spend enough time in there to feel the need to expend too much effort in decorating it, and it is much smaller than one may expect after seeing the room. There is, however, a clean bathtub lined with a few red/gold, unused candles.

...then again, it takes a lot more flowery language to say "thanks but no thanks."

[His eyes flicker back to Phoenix.]

Only if you keep smiling at me like that.

[It's a grumble, but a very bare and open one. It's more than clear that all the cards are on the table here, anyway.]

Is that all?

[...and he continues to gaze at him, smile broadening ever so much.]

[He shoots Edgeworth a pained look.]

It helps.

[That statement contradicts this evidence, but he means it.]

[He lays down into the grass, upon his back.]



...Would you mind doing me...a little favour?

[Looking over his shoulder to make eye contact]

...sure. What is it?

[There was always an act that, once - a very long time ago - had provided Edgeworth with an ultimate comfort. He'd even dream of it. It's been many, many years since he had experienced it, but he would frequently recall the memories of the faceless someone -his father, of course - indulging him in this soothing act of affection. He craves it now, and he couldn't think of a better person to ask this of...]

I'd be happy to.

[He scoots back until he's sitting just behind Edgeworth's head, and leans with his chin on his knees, one hand finding its way back to that silvery hair and scratching in large, languid circles interspersed with a few back-and-forth motions. It's maybe not entirely unlike how he pets Sunflower, but slower, with a great deal more thought put into it.

And he sighs, content. He'd hum if he could think of anything worthwhile; instead, after he's silent for a few full minutes, he points lazily to a cloud drifting by and murmurs.]

Kind of looks like a horse.

[As soon as Phoenix's fingers find his scalp, his eyes flutter shut. He relishes in the massage...This was an utterly indescribable, and utterly nostalgic, wonderful feeling - and yet, he wondered if this effect could be achieved by anyone else but the Faceless Man...and Phoenix.

Of course, with his eyes closed, he doesn't realize that Phoenix is pointing to a cloud...]








...Who? Mrs. Oldbag?

[takethat]

[He chortles quietly.]

Yeah, her too--Edgey-poo. But I meant one of the clouds.

[Following Edgeworth's lead, he too shuts his eyes, breathing slowly and deeply. He's almost startled to hear himself speaking what he's thinking.]

I think I could stay like this forever.

[cantacquityou]

[He shudders at "Edgey-poo." Seriously, Phoenix. Never again.]



I'd get a cramp, eventually.

[takethat]

[Just for that, he gets a thump on the head before the scratching continues.]

You know what I mean.

[cantacquityou]

[He chuckles silently, eyes remaining closed.]


You have magic fingers.

[takethat]

I can't possibly imagine why. I've never touched anybody like this before.

[Dahlia certainly wasn't into cuddling or petting or being gentle in any way, and it's not as if he's had many other "friends" who would ever be this close.]

[cantacquityou]

[His head rolls off a bit to the side.]

I don't know if I could stay forever like this...but I could certainly fall asleep like this.

Fall asleep if you want to. [Grin] Maybe you need a rest after your tree adventure?

Perhaps. I did not sleep at all...all night...

What kept you up? Not nightmares, I hope?
