Room at various angles.

...Because Edgeworth is very well-off, there will be no question that he will request as much from the castle as he can to feel 'at home.' Therefore, his room will be inspired by a room of one of his favourite hotel suites - the Hazlitts in Soho, London. The hotel room is a bit smaller than it appears in the picture, but is extremely richly furnished and decorated. However, with opulence comes a price, as usual, and because of Edgeworth's fastidious tastes, the castle will inflict upon him at least one temporary loss per month. Unbeknownst to Edgeworth, of course.

At any given time, there will be a book or two on the bed, and others placed sporadically at various crevasses within the room. There is another, smaller partition of the room containing a couch, small table, and chair. There are a pair of small speakers, a heated blanket, a small fridge with at least two wine bottles, and a heating apparatus that doesn't emit microwaves. There's also a burgundy/blue chess set. There's no television, no futon, and of course, no Oldbag . There is a black box on the desk that requires not only a key to be opened, but a sliding puzzle to be solved. There's also a medium-sized kitchen. The bathroom is nothing particularly fascinating, as he doesn't spend enough time in there to feel the need to expend too much effort in decorating it, and it is much smaller than one may expect after seeing the room. There is, however, a clean bathtub lined with a few red/gold, unused candles.

...I think you're still misunderstanding now. Of course I was bothered. Everyone was taking things entirely the wrong way. You were upset, too.

[Yes, but upset for an entirely different reason, I might add.]

[He looks directly into his eyes and smiles a small ...smile or sorts.]

...You aren't going to die not being by my side for seven days.

[That's probably not altogether true--not that there will be any explaining going on between these two.]

[He meets that gaze and sort of half-wilts under it, working his jaw in an attempt to keep from looking too teary-eyed. He's not going to cry in front of Edgeworth--and he's not going to cry over Edgeworth, either. ~~So he keeps telling himself, anyway.~~]

...but it's pointless to do this.

[Which is probably true. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, after all.]

[Oh God, you're killing me, Phoenix. I'm supposed to be 'ruthless,' remember? He places his hands on Phoenix's shoulders and smiles at him]

...Whatever have I done to deserve a friend like you?

[Ugh, he just wants to hug Edgeworth and cry.

He swallows the unfortunate lump in his throat and speaks up again, failing completely at his attempt to make his voice sound normal.]

...if you think so highly of me, then there really isn't any reason to stop talking to me for a week.

[Why is this so difficult? Surely Edgeworth could normally go weeks without speaking with his closest acquaintances, no problem. Phoenix, on the other hand, was oddly and unnervingly distraught about a mere few days of separation. At seeing how much this is actually troubling Phoenix, he is struck to the core... He cannot help wanting to hug Phoenix, himself.]

...I truly am cruel to you, aren't I?

[He breathes in sharply at that, and looks away--at the floor, at his feet, at anything but Edgeworth.]

You're... not, ordinarily.

...But this is cruel, and I don't understand why you're doing it.

[Never mind that he also doesn't understand why it hurts so much--that's for worrying about at a later time.]

[Damn. And you'd think he had said seven months rather than seven days...]

...Of course I am. After all, when I thought about it, I spend a disproportionate amount of time poking fun at you...

[Hey, seven days is a long time to go without seeing the person who makes you the happiest. ...not that that's getting admitted, either.]

I guess that's true, but it doesn't really bother me all that much. I'd rather you be making fun of me than not talking to me at all.

...Really, now?

I just always assumed that was your way of being friendly.

[He shrugs, positive he was wrong once again in his attempts to peg Edgeworth's personality.]

[He stands there, an elbow in one palm, and the other palm against his cheek...]

What? Are you studying me?

...I think you'll be fine.

[Hangs his head--once again, he's been defeated. And it's worse this time, after seeing a glimmer of hope first.]

I won't be fine....

[Walks in closer and puts his arms around him. Sheesh.]

[What is happening

...well, okay, this is better. Much better. Phoenix isn't too worried about his feelings right now, as weird and confusing as they may be; he just knows this is something of what he wanted, so he hugs back, because it seems like the right thing to do. It feels safe, and he smiles a tiny little smile.]

[He sighs a particularly large sigh ~~TOTALLY NOT stroking Phoenix's head a little in the process.~~]

Hmph. You are a painintheass...

[~~Totally not really happy about that head stroking that isn't happening hurr~~]

...you know you like it.

[Not letting go. He's afraid if he lets go, he's still going to be told to get lost for a week.]

[releases his grip, but when he realizes that Phoenix's own is iron-tight and unmoving, his hands unintentionally rests at his hips. He cranes his neck a bit in attempt to look into Phoenix's face.]

... Alright.

[sighs again]

...You win.

[That was the last thing he expected to hear, but boy is he happy now. He gives Edgeworth an extra squeeze ~~because that is also not gay~~ and then smirks a little.]
