Room at various angles.

...Because Edgeworth is very well-off, there will be no question that he will request as much from the castle as he can to feel 'at home.' Therefore, his room will be inspired by a room of one of his favourite hotel suites - the Hazlitts in Soho, London. The hotel room is a bit smaller than it appears in the picture, but is extremely richly furnished and decorated. However, with opulence comes a price, as usual, and because of Edgeworth's fastidious tastes, the castle will inflict upon him at least one temporary loss per month. Unbeknownst to Edgeworth, of course.

At any given time, there will be a book or two on the bed, and others placed sporadically at various crevasses within the room. There is another, smaller partition of the room containing a couch, small table, and chair. There are a pair of small speakers, a heated blanket, a small fridge with at least two wine bottles, and a heating apparatus that doesn't emit microwaves. There's also a burgundy/blue chess set. There's no television, no futon, and of course, no Oldbag . There is a black box on the desk that requires not only a key to be opened, but a sliding puzzle to be solved. There's also a medium-sized kitchen. The bathroom is nothing particularly fascinating, as he doesn't spend enough time in there to feel the need to expend too much effort in decorating it, and it is much smaller than one may expect after seeing the room. There is, however, a clean bathtub lined with a few red/gold, unused candles.

All the... possibilities, even the unlikely ones.

Surely that is not all, seeing as though we've yet to come up with a solid conclusion. Though it does make sense to me that the Castle would refrain from pairing us in situations acknowledging that we are apt to cooperate with each other, and work together rather than against...

This is a really different "situation" than last time... you know? I wonder if that has some kind of bearing on it. Last time, we really had to work together, and we did. This time--I wonder if it would've been less of a thing.

[He's kind of trailed off, muttering the weak end of that statement to himself more than to Edgeworth, trying to sort through the thoughts that are getting ahead of him.]

..."less of a thing"? That statement could do with a bit more embellishing...

I'm thinking, let me think!!

[He's pacing and tapping his chin thoughtfully.]

This is a really domestic situation. Maybe the castle's putting us with people it thinks we should be doing domestic-type things with.

...except Larry is horrible at all of it, so maybe not...

...and what relevance would there be in regard to myself and Vanyel? I barely knew the fellow before this.

[He does not believe that--but does his best to hide his skepticism.]

Guess that's a faulty theory, too...

[The kids have been far too quiet for faaar too long, and Edgeworth notes this. His daddy senses go on alert...his little one was usually a silent one, but something was amiss...

...in the corner of his eye, he catches her attempting to climb onto the head of the desk's chair in an attempt to reach a decorative, glass chess-piece on a high shelf. The chair is rocking from underneath her as if on the verge of toppling over with her...]

Vidia!

Oh, geez...

[Phoenix, in the meantime, checks for his two. At first, he only spots Sage, who is on a mission; she's apparently been pulling pillows, blankets, throws--anything she can get her hands on--into a pile in the middle of the floor.]

Sage! What are you... where's Olive??

[Just as he's about to be a panicked daddy, too, the pile of blankets whines and squirms, and he kneels to uncover Olive. He smiles and shakes his head.]

Can't take my eyes off you two for a second, can I?

[...and falls she does - well, almost. Edgeworth catches her just in time before any significant damage other that fright happens, and in his fit of panic...he crouches, clutching Vidia and shaking...as if he had just experienced a mild earthquake.

Clearly...someone's getting a bit attached to the kid.]

[Good thing Phoenix looked back to Edgeworth when he did, or he might've missed that daring rescue. He tilts his head to the side and blinks... ...that was a level of self-sacrifice he's not seen in Edgeworth in a while.

With one eye on Sage and Olive ~~this time~~, he goes to place a hand on Edgeworth's shoulder.]

...you two okay?

[Embarrassed by having his...fit of cowering in full display, he immediately straightens himself up and places the child on the bed, 'dusting' her off and fidgeting with her tiny cravat.]

Of course. Nothing to worry about, as you can see.

[He says this to reassure Edgeworth more than to agree with him--and then, for good measure]

You're a good dad.

[He clears his throat.]

'Dad' or no dad, any marginally sane person would try to prevent a child from hurting itself...

Sure, that's not what I was referring to.

I was talking about how shaken up you are from worrying about her.

...Th-that's not abnormal, either...

It was nothing. Really...

[It was most certainly not "nothing," but Phoenix will let it go... for now.]

Better keep a closer watch on these three, huh?

[Mumbles something incoherent.]

...Anyway, if your 'children' become a bit too difficult to handle, you should enlist the help of a babysitter, since Larry is apparently not fit for fatherhood.

[Trying to change the subject, yes.]

[Shrug]

Not sure I trust her much more than Larry, but at least she'd try.

[He's still smiling, looking at Edgeworth. He can't stop smiling, as a matter of fact, because what he just saw was... really a wonderful reaffirmation that Edgeworth is a caring human being. Phoenix has a goofy look on his face, no doubt, because he's a little overwhelmed by this. In a good way.]
