Room at various angles.

...Because Edgeworth is very well-off, there will be no question that he will request as much from the castle as he can to feel 'at home.' Therefore, his room will be inspired by a room of one of his favourite hotel suites - the Hazlitts in Soho, London. The hotel room is a bit smaller than it appears in the picture, but is extremely richly furnished and decorated. However, with opulence comes a price, as usual, and because of Edgeworth's fastidious tastes, the castle will inflict upon him at least one temporary loss per month. Unbeknownst to Edgeworth, of course.

At any given time, there will be a book or two on the bed, and others placed sporadically at various crevasses within the room. There is another, smaller partition of the room containing a couch, small table, and chair. There are a pair of small speakers, a heated blanket, a small fridge with at least two wine bottles, and a heating apparatus that doesn't emit microwaves. There's also a burgundy/blue chess set. There's no television, no futon, and of course, no Oldbag . There is a black box on the desk that requires not only a key to be opened, but a sliding puzzle to be solved. There's also a medium-sized kitchen. The bathroom is nothing particularly fascinating, as he doesn't spend enough time in there to feel the need to expend too much effort in decorating it, and it is much smaller than one may expect after seeing the room. There is, however, a clean bathtub lined with a few red/gold, unused candles.

[He lands upon his feet - well, initially, anyway - then proceeds to fall upon his backside.

He winces by that quickly fleeting sting of pain travelling through his hindquarters. He then sits there, leaning back upon his palms, while a small smile ghosts his features.]

Ow.

[When he topples over, Phoenix immediately kneels next to him (after recovering from his initial shock of watching Edgeworth jump out of a tree at all).]

Holy--are you okay?? Did you hurt yourself?? I can get help!

...Hello, Phoenix.

[At that, Phoenix lets out a little strangled sound, something like a sob-turned-laugh, and wraps both arms around Edgeworth's neck in a tight hug.]

I missed you...

[Edgeworth has really brought this on himself.]

[He places a hand upon Phoenix's head...which may have transferred a blade of grass to his hair.]

I missed you, too.

[And he pulls back from the hug then and peers at Edgeworth.]

...are you the same Miles you were a few weeks ago? ...because you're not... telling me to get lost or acting bothered that I hugged you.... do you realize that?

Are you the same Wright you were a few weeks ago? ...Because you appear to be complaining about a hug.

Not complaining, no! Just... just checking.

[He'll just be going back to said hug now, his brief concern about his Miles being replaced calmed. He won't be letting go of his own volition just yet.]

Have you been okay? Safe? Eating well? Healthy?

I was...[a chuckle] ...just joking.

...and somewhat. Yes.

Somewhat? What's been going on...?

[Tell him all about it while he cuddles you in the grass, Edgeworth.]

Calm yourself, mother...

I've just been worried... It's been too long.

[He places a thumb upon Phoenix's chin, his index finger slightly brushing the underside.]

...It has.

[His heart skips at that, not unpleasantly, but he fights to keep the inevitable blush from rising to his face.

Don't be too forward. The hugging is enough. The touching is more than he could've asked for, half-expecting this meeting to have already dissolved into argument and misunderstanding.

But instead, he can't stop smiling.]

Did you... ah... did you hurt yourself jumping out of the tree?

[As mad as he thinks himself for it, he simply cannot stop smiling, either. He shakes his head, his gaze upon Phoenix unwavering.]

If I were to say yes, what would you do?

Pick you up and carry you to the clinic in the castle, of course!

[He's mostly sure that's what the question was about, anyway, though there are a few things Edgeworth could be implying by it.]

Clinic?

[He covers his face with his palm and stifles a hearty chuckle.]

Th-then...yes, I am fine.

[A blink. He doesn't realize he's said anything wrong.]

What got into you today, anyway? Climbing trees like that!

[As he asks this, warily, slowly and watching for signs that he shouldn't, he reaches out in an attempt to pet Edgeworth's hair... something he's wanted to do now for quite some time.]

Being...spontaneous, I suppose.

[No objections? Okay. He touches the gray hair that so often entices him, staring at it in some kind of wonder as he attempts to continue the small talk.]

It's good for you... you know, to do stuff on the spur of the moment, and all...

Hmph. ...You're grasping, Mr. Wright.

Yeah, well... you're distracting, Mr. Edgeworth.

[And he's getting a little high on the proximity, the nerves, and the fact that Edgeworth has yet to push him away.]
