Room at various angles.

...Because Edgeworth is very well-off, there will be no question that he will request as much from the castle as he can to feel 'at home.' Therefore, his room will be inspired by a room of one of his favourite hotel suites - the Hazlitts in Soho, London. The hotel room is a bit smaller than it appears in the picture, but is extremely richly furnished and decorated. However, with opulence comes a price, as usual, and because of Edgeworth's fastidious tastes, the castle will inflict upon him at least one temporary loss per month. Unbeknownst to Edgeworth, of course.

At any given time, there will be a book or two on the bed, and others placed sporadically at various crevasses within the room.  There is another, smaller partition of the room containing a couch, small table, and chair. There are a pair of small speakers, a heated blanket, a small fridge with at least two wine bottles, and a heating apparatus that doesn't emit microwaves. There's also a burgundy/blue chess set. There's no television, no futon, and of course, no Oldbag . There is a black box on the desk that requires not only a key to be opened, but a sliding puzzle to be solved. There's also a medium-sized kitchen. The bathroom is nothing particularly fascinating, as he doesn't spend enough time in there to feel the need to expend too much effort in decorating it, and it is much smaller than one may expect after seeing the room. There is, however, a clean bathtub lined with a few red/gold, unused candles.

Still, it means a lot to me that you told me as much as you did.

[The desire to touch Edgeworth right now is ridiculously strong. Anything--a pat on the shoulder, a hug, a hand atop his--anything, but he won't make a move. His "affectionate nature" is in trouble already.]

...A bit peckish, yes. I was wondering if you had wanted to share something with me. I'll just order something small.

...I'll share something.

[Shrug]

It's my birthday for a little while longer--might as well overindulge.

[Miles orders a sampler of all sorts of seafood - mussels, bacon-wrapped scallops (oops you're Jewish), shrimps, lobster bites, etc. - and sushi (with a selection of fish for all your Jewishness.



...He then sits there and taps his fingers on the table.]

[Well, at least he gets to eat something, though he definitely feels like he's being picked on again, after that order...]





...guess you were pretty hungry. Are they feeding you in the city?

...whoever you're spending all your time with?

...No. Veritas hasn't been doing a good job of feeding me much at all.

Hm, I should have a talk with her about that.

[He slumps back in his seat again.]

It isn't that depressing.

[takethat]

...I've had better nights.

[He falls silent, then, having little else he intends to say. He's tired of the arguing and poking fun, and he's tired of doing his damnedest to understand a man who doesn't seem to want to be understood. He'd really love to just be able to turn off caring about Miles Edgeworth, but he can't, and he's beginning to hate that about himself.]

[This is Edgeworth looking sad. Really, really sad.]

[When he notices that, he melts... and wants to hug Edgeworth even more. Again.]

...I'm sorry, Miles. I didn't mean that... the way it ended up sounding.

H-hey... I apologized...

...if you keep looking that sad, I'm just going to want to hug you. And then I'll be bothering you all over again, so... if I were you, I'd smile.

[He gives a soft chuckle just to punctuate the fact that he's kidding. Kind of. (Not really.)]
