Room at various angles.

...Because Edgeworth is very well-off, there will be no question that he will request as much from the castle as he can to feel 'at home.' Therefore, his room will be inspired by a room of one of his favourite hotel suites - the Hazlitts in Soho, London. The hotel room is a bit smaller than it appears in the picture, but is extremely richly furnished and decorated. However, with opulence comes a price, as usual, and because of Edgeworth's fastidious tastes, the castle will inflict upon him at least one temporary loss per month. Unbeknownst to Edgeworth, of course.

At any given time, there will be a book or two on the bed, and others placed sporadically at various crevasses within the room. There is another, smaller partition of the room containing a couch, small table, and chair. There are a pair of small speakers, a heated blanket, a small fridge with at least two wine bottles, and a heating apparatus that doesn't emit microwaves. There's also a burgundy/blue chess set. There's no television, no futon, and of course, no Oldbag . There is a black box on the desk that requires not only a key to be opened, but a sliding puzzle to be solved. There's also a medium-sized kitchen. The bathroom is nothing particularly fascinating, as he doesn't spend enough time in there to feel the need to expend too much effort in decorating it, and it is much smaller than one may expect after seeing the room. There is, however, a clean bathtub lined with a few red/gold, unused candles.

The thought crossed my mind. At least if it's a hotel, that probably means you aren't staying there forever.

[He stands abruptly and fishes in his pocket, throwing down enough caisos on the table to pay for his drinks as well as Edgeworth's food. Once again, he's had enough of this insane back-and-forth. It's as though every time he thinks Edgeworth is finally listening to him or possibly giving a damn about him, it's all shot down a second later. And he's already been through enough of it tonight.]

Back to my room. Here in the castle. Where I live. Wouldn't want anyone to worry about me.

[...Reaches over and hooks his finger into one of Phoenix's posterior belt loops.]

[Edgeworth isn't the only one having a problem with the touching, now.]

[Shocked beyond measure, Edgeworth releases his grip.]

[He shoves his hands in his pockets... those little touches are starting to drive him crazy, just like they are doing to Edgeworth.]

...I don't approve of what you're doing and I don't want to support it...

What are you talking about? What...am I doing, exactly?

Leaving, or trying to leave. I don't approve, I don't support that, I think it's terrible, and I hate the way you're behaving about it.

[Edgeworth could not recall a time when he was this emotionally drained and...smothered, for some reason. It was not as if he had much patience before, but at this point...he was nearly ready to give up and give in just to make it all stop, already...]

[Phoenix, too, is emotionally drained, though for far different reasons--he just doesn't know why he can't make Edgeworth understand what he's trying to tell him.]

...look, I... I'm sorry. This is clearly not going the way either of us wanted it to, in no small part thanks to me.

[He shakes his head, slowly. Wherever he ends up - Castle, or no castle, he feels that there is one thing that must be made clear...]

[He leans on the table with both hands, visibly weighed down by these words. And he's just so damn tired of all this. He doesn't know what to do anymore--he's tried everything, and Edgeworth just can't see any of it from his perspective.

So, Phoenix looks him square in the eyes and nods, once. His voice is level, but shallow, as he forces all the fight out of it. If this is what Edgeworth really wants...]

No, not necessarily.

My happiness is not dependent on your absence, Wright. But I haven't a clue what I could say to express what I'd like without making matters worse. I am drained. So, as for now, I would like to plead the Fifth, and I will return to Paradisa in an effort to hopefully quell this nonsensical feud between us...
