Room at various angles.

...Because Edgeworth is very well-off, there will be no question that he will request as much from the castle as he can to feel 'at home.' Therefore, his room will be inspired by a room of one of his favourite hotel suites - the Hazlitts in Soho, London. The hotel room is a bit smaller than it appears in the picture, but is extremely richly furnished and decorated. However, with opulence comes a price, as usual, and because of Edgeworth's fastidious tastes, the castle will inflict upon him at least one temporary loss per month. Unbeknownst to Edgeworth, of course.

At any given time, there will be a book or two on the bed, and others placed sporadically at various crevasses within the room.  There is another, smaller partition of the room containing a couch, small table, and chair. There are a pair of small speakers, a heated blanket, a small fridge with at least two wine bottles, and a heating apparatus that doesn't emit microwaves. There's also a burgundy/blue chess set. There's no television, no futon, and of course, no Oldbag . There is a black box on the desk that requires not only a key to be opened, but a sliding puzzle to be solved. There's also a medium-sized kitchen. The bathroom is nothing particularly fascinating, as he doesn't spend enough time in there to feel the need to expend too much effort in decorating it, and it is much smaller than one may expect after seeing the room. There is, however, a clean bathtub lined with a few red/gold, unused candles.

[And he takes a few steps away, kicking up the sand as he goes, not unlike the last time.]

No. [And right back to the very same 'worries' he had hoped to clear his mind of... He looks off into the horizon, observing the moonlight dancing upon restless waves...]


...We took the child here but two days ago.

[Right. With Vanyel.]

...must've been a nice visit.

[He shrugged.]


...Perhaps. She certainly enjoyed herself, at the very least.

[takethat]

[He walks on, calling over his shoulder as he goes]

Are you taking a walk with me, or not?

[cantacquityou]

Ah. Beg your pardon, I-- [He hurries on over, matching his pace with Phoenix's upon meeting up with him once more. He silently strode alongside Phoenix.]

...A love of water isn't necessary for appreciating the beach.

I guess. But I still don't find it any less creepy lurking out there in the darkness.

[He's carefully placed himself on the non-ocean side of Edgeworth as they walk, and goes in silence for a moment or two.]




...why did you suggest coming out here?

I thought it would be relaxing.

[takethat]

Right...

[At least the "fresh air" is calming his nerves... a little bit. He shoves his hands into his pockets and tries, to no avail, to push the mental image out of his mind of Edgeworth and Vanyel, laughing and smiling and doting over Vidia here on the sand.

(First you're obvious, now you're jealous? Should've just gotten drunk and passed out...)]

I know that tone. You don't believe me, do you?

[With every step, he's wishing he could just run back to his room and lock the door and pretend this never happened.]

Not especially, Miles...

...And why not?

[(Because I think you know exactly what being here does to me and you want to destroy me, piece by piece, from the inside out.)]

No sense arguing it, then, I guess.

[He shrugs and dissolves into silence once more.]

...[He looks over at Phoenix being...uncharacteristically silent. It's almost unnatural.]


Come now, Wright. Perhaps you'll have another little Sage and Olive in the future...by the natural order of things, in any case.

...that reminds me.

[He turns to face Edgeworth.]

Maya told me, a couple days ago, that this girl used to live here in the castle--this girl named Trucy. And Trucy was from our world, but in the future, and she was... she was my daughter.

Your...your daughter?

[takethat]

Yeah. My... adopted... teenage daughter. So Maya told me.

[cantacquityou]

[There was an odd fluctuation of feelings upon hearing 'daughter,' some of which oddly mellowed upon hearing, 'adopted']


...Maya claims that you are to adopt a daughter in the future, is that what you are telling me?

[takethat]

Yes--that's pretty much all I know about it. Maya didn't have any details about why I apparently adopt this Trucy... just that I do, and that she's a good girl.

[He gazes up at the moon.]

I wish I could meet her here. It'd be nice to--

[To not have to feel so lonely all the time.]
