Room at various angles.

...Because Edgeworth is very well-off, there will be no question that he will request as much from the castle as he can to feel 'at home.' Therefore, his room will be inspired by a room of one of his favourite hotel suites - the Hazlitts in Soho, London. The hotel room is a bit smaller than it appears in the picture, but is extremely richly furnished and decorated. However, with opulence comes a price, as usual, and because of Edgeworth's fastidious tastes, the castle will inflict upon him at least one temporary loss per month. Unbeknownst to Edgeworth, of course.

At any given time, there will be a book or two on the bed, and others placed sporadically at various crevasses within the room.  There is another, smaller partition of the room containing a couch, small table, and chair. There are a pair of small speakers, a heated blanket, a small fridge with at least two wine bottles, and a heating apparatus that doesn't emit microwaves. There's also a burgundy/blue chess set. There's no television, no futon, and of course, no Oldbag . There is a black box on the desk that requires not only a key to be opened, but a sliding puzzle to be solved. There's also a medium-sized kitchen. The bathroom is nothing particularly fascinating, as he doesn't spend enough time in there to feel the need to expend too much effort in decorating it, and it is much smaller than one may expect after seeing the room. There is, however, a clean bathtub lined with a few red/gold, unused candles.

Ah! I've always been rather curious about this. Having no car, how on Earth do you conceal and transport all of the evidence that you utilize in court? Have you some sort of Hammerspace Breeches from which you pull 'The Thinker' out of at will?

Should I choose, 'Truth,' I already have an idea of what you'd ask, and I'd utterly fear for my safety and sanity if I were to choose, 'Dare'...

[He smirks and gives Edgeworth a playful nudge--maybe a little touching is okay, now that his mood seems to be lifted a bit?]

Does that mean you're letting me win?

I was unaware that this was a competition.

...I may regret this, but I am actually quite curious...perhaps morbidly so. Shall I say, 'Dare'?

[takethat]

Oh, Miles--everything is a competition.

[And competing with Edgeworth makes his eyes gleam.]

I dare you to initiate a hug.

...Is that it? Nothing more? There are no further...[he languidly twirls a finger]...stipulations?

I wasn't going to make any, but since you asked... it has to be with a human. An adult human. None of your pet things!

...and when is this to take place?

[takethat]

This is truth or dare, so... right now.

[No, Edgeworth doesn't have to hug Phoenix... if he'd rather go out into the hall and hug a random passerby, that is.]

[He pauses.




Then, without warning, he hooks his fingers upon Phoenix's collar and with unmitigated force, swiftly pulls him in, no less than slamming the defense attorney into his embrace. If the wind had yet to be knocked out of his friend, Edgeworth wraps his arms around Phoenix's torso, tightening his grip around him, though not uncomfortably so.

This ain't yo momma's hugs. This is a manly hug. ILU bro ;_;]

[Phoenix had expected Edgeworth to prefer going to find someone else to hug to complete the challenge--or maybe just to weasel his way out of it altogether, somehow. So, when he suddenly finds himself crushed into a tight and very uncharacteristic hug, he's unsure, for a moment, what's even happening. And, in true Phoenix fashion, he voices his confusion eloquently.]

Uh??

[But it's a hug--a real one--and once the initial complete shock has passed, he sinks into it and reciprocates the kindness... of course, in a "manly" way, and wondering if maybe Edgeworth needed this today as much as he did.]

If it was a hug you that you had wanted, you need only ask.

[takethat]

I just wanted to see you hug someone. It didn't have to be me.

[cantacquityou]

[He pats him on the back, mid-hug.]

...Of course, you did.

[takethat]

You know, I was going to dare you to streak down the hallway, but then you said it couldn't be anything humiliating...

[And now he's all grumbly because Edgeworth doesn't believe him.]

[cantacquityou]

[He withdraws out of the embrace, though maintaining grip on Phoenix's shoulders.]


...have you not already seen me naked one too many times by now?

Yes, yes I have.

[Frown]

The whole point of this game is to get people to do embarrassing things!

Oh, is it? Clearly, a game for those with underlying sadistic tendencies. Though, the question still begs to be asked... would you not prefer a dare that didn't involve having to see me wear naught but a frown?

[takethat]

It's a game for twelve-year-olds, actually. When I used to play it when I was a kid, all the dares would be like... "moon so-and-so's mom!" or "kiss a girl!" or "eat a spider!"

Why, spiders are a delicacy in Cambodia...

You know, I've heard that! I would love to try a spider that's been cooked properly, someday.
