Room at various angles.

...Because Edgeworth is very well-off, there will be no question that he will request as much from the castle as he can to feel 'at home.' Therefore, his room will be inspired by a room of one of his favourite hotel suites - the Hazlitts in Soho, London. The hotel room is a bit smaller than it appears in the picture, but is extremely richly furnished and decorated. However, with opulence comes a price, as usual, and because of Edgeworth's fastidious tastes, the castle will inflict upon him at least one temporary loss per month. Unbeknownst to Edgeworth, of course.

At any given time, there will be a book or two on the bed, and others placed sporadically at various crevasses within the room.  There is another, smaller partition of the room containing a couch, small table, and chair. There are a pair of small speakers, a heated blanket, a small fridge with at least two wine bottles, and a heating apparatus that doesn't emit microwaves. There's also a burgundy/blue chess set. There's no television, no futon, and of course, no Oldbag . There is a black box on the desk that requires not only a key to be opened, but a sliding puzzle to be solved. There's also a medium-sized kitchen. The bathroom is nothing particularly fascinating, as he doesn't spend enough time in there to feel the need to expend too much effort in decorating it, and it is much smaller than one may expect after seeing the room. There is, however, a clean bathtub lined with a few red/gold, unused candles.

Phoenix blanches and tries desperately to hide his horror, convinced that Edgeworth has noticed... something.]














I'm up for that.

[The best way to hide his guilt, perhaps, is to return boldly to the scene of the crime.

Or at least to call Edgeworth's bluff.]

[He gestures to the "fish room" containing Magikarp's large tank.]

She likes to sleep in there with Magikarp. I guess they're friends, or something.

...I wish I could say the same for Pyotr and Veritas...

[He opens his mouth to comment on Sage and Olive's fondness for Sunflower, but for the third time this evening, stops himself short.]



...ah, yeah, I guess a dog and a snake wouldn't get along too well.

I find their bitter rivalry rather amusing, really. It isn't very much unlike that of a prosecutor and a defense attorney...

Then they must like each other at least a little bit.

[He chuckles heartily.]


...I'll keep that in mind should I find that it has gotten to the point in which we're trying to eat each other.

Probably hasn't been too far from that in court a few times.

Alright, then. Before any more distractions come upon us - beach.



[And doo de doo off to the fucking beach because neither of us want to play out a long, drawn-out shitty walk all the way there goddamnit. Oh look, we're there all of a sudden.]




...The view is an especially lovely one tonight, I trust it will help in clearing our minds of our troubles, a bit...

[He'd argue that this castle-manufactured beach pretty much always has a lovely view, but why bother? Instead he loosens the top button of his shirt and kicks off his shoes. He'd rather be anywhere but here, but as long as he's on the beach he might as well try to relax.

Yeah. Right.]

Sure, Miles. I guess going to the beach does that to normal people who aren't afraid of the water.

...Well, we weren't planning on swimming, were we?

[So standing it is. Awkwardly.]

I haven't been back here since that last time. Well, someone tried to make me come here once after that, but I got out of it.

[And he takes a few steps away, kicking up the sand as he goes, not unlike the last time.]

No. [And right back to the very same 'worries' he had hoped to clear his mind of... He looks off into the horizon, observing the moonlight dancing upon restless waves...]


...We took the child here but two days ago.

[Right. With Vanyel.]

...must've been a nice visit.

[He shrugged.]


...Perhaps. She certainly enjoyed herself, at the very least.

[He walks on, calling over his shoulder as he goes]

Are you taking a walk with me, or not?

Ah. Beg your pardon, I-- [He hurries on over, matching his pace with Phoenix's upon meeting up with him once more. He silently strode alongside Phoenix.]

...A love of water isn't necessary for appreciating the beach.

I guess. But I still don't find it any less creepy lurking out there in the darkness.

[He's carefully placed himself on the non-ocean side of Edgeworth as they walk, and goes in silence for a moment or two.]




...why did you suggest coming out here?
