Room at various angles.

...Because Edgeworth is very well-off, there will be no question that he will request as much from the castle as he can to feel 'at home.' Therefore, his room will be inspired by a room of one of his favourite hotel suites - the Hazlitts in Soho, London. The hotel room is a bit smaller than it appears in the picture, but is extremely richly furnished and decorated. However, with opulence comes a price, as usual, and because of Edgeworth's fastidious tastes, the castle will inflict upon him at least one temporary loss per month. Unbeknownst to Edgeworth, of course.

At any given time, there will be a book or two on the bed, and others placed sporadically at various crevasses within the room.  There is another, smaller partition of the room containing a couch, small table, and chair. There are a pair of small speakers, a heated blanket, a small fridge with at least two wine bottles, and a heating apparatus that doesn't emit microwaves. There's also a burgundy/blue chess set. There's no television, no futon, and of course, no Oldbag . There is a black box on the desk that requires not only a key to be opened, but a sliding puzzle to be solved. There's also a medium-sized kitchen. The bathroom is nothing particularly fascinating, as he doesn't spend enough time in there to feel the need to expend too much effort in decorating it, and it is much smaller than one may expect after seeing the room. There is, however, a clean bathtub lined with a few red/gold, unused candles.

It's okay! ...you don't have to smack her!

[He's kind of losing Olive now, so he puts her on the bed instead. Unlike her sister, she seems quite content to curl up and pout instead of trying to get involved with her scary cousin.

Sage's screaming is slowly growing quieter, and Phoenix gives Edgeworth a look--the look of a tired daddy.]

I'm really sorry--I told you they're a handful. I'll take them back down to my room so you can have some peace... okay?

Nonsense. [but not for long He goes on over to Olive and holds out his hands expectantly. Come to Uncle Miles?]

[takethat]

[She peers at him for a moment and then stretches her arms up at him in return. Pick her up! Give her attention Edgeworth she is just like her father]

Hug??

[It's the first word she's uttered since Phoenix brought her in, and he smiles at her as he pats Sage's back.]

She's really clingy sometimes.

Yes, yes, my dear. Hug.

[He collects her into his arms, brushing back her messy hair. He slightly tips her chin up, smiling as he studied her face...]


Look at those beautiful, big, blue eyes...just like your father's. Such an uncanny resembla--ah, ah...no touching the cravat...

[Too bad, Edgeworth. She's fascinated by that cravat and is finding great joy in puffing up each layer of it and smooshing them all back down again. She giggles merrily, and Phoenix sighs.]

I told you she doesn't listen... But... But she's really sweet anyway!

[cantacquityou]

[Brb cuddling your daughter.]


...That, she is.


[He taps on her little shoulder in an attempt to get her attention, and in a soft voice, points and 'yells':]


Objection!

[takethat]

Bajesshun!

[She points back and then dissolves into giggles again.]

I pointed and you pointed!

[Phoenix laughs]

Captain Obvious...

[Ah! She does talk! Well, what to expect from a three-year-old... He repeats the word, this time without pointing, in an attempt to get her to improve her pronunciation.]

Say, 'objection'...'obJECtion'?

Ba....JESSHUN!

[She laughs again and puts her little arms around Edgeworth's neck in a hug.]



You're fighting a losing battle there, I think, Miles.

[Says the man whose other daughter is currently pulling his hair and crying.]

[He returns the hug, patting her gently on the back. However, the apparent misery of the other child being just a tad little contagious, little Miss E-A starts to feel a little jealous at the attention being given to another little girl. She whines in her tiny, soft voice an attempt to get his attention:]


Daddyyyyyy...


[He looks over at her]


May I help you, Little One?


[He then props Olive onto his hip and scoops his own up with his other hand. 'Little One,' here, doesn't seem very happy to have to share her daddy, so she crosses her arms in a toddler-like way and glares at her.]


Ah, yes. You had asked about her name, earlier...

Oh yeah--sorry Sage's little breakdown interrupted. ...but I really want to know! What're you calling her?

I warn you, it's a mouthful.


Vidia Medina Edgeworth-Ashkevron.

Good lord.

Any special meaning behind all that? ...and was the shared last name really necessary?

Our surnames and our initials. It was the only way to come to a compromise...

I can think of a million better V and M names... but...

[He glances over at the girl, looking... well, like Edgeworth, in many ways. Including his prissiness. Edgeworth is prissy.]

...kind of suits her, really.

It's a big name for a little girl!

[He laughs a little.]

But it sure beats naming her after pizza.

...I have heard the same of the name 'Miles Edgeworth' when I was younger.


What suggestions did you have?

I got a lot about having a dumb name when I was a kid too you know...

[A shrug]

Melody! Melody is a perfect name for a little girl. I wanted to call one of mine that... but Larry wouldn't let me.

...I tried to refrain from common names.

[Funny, as 'Vidya' is a common Indian name and 'Medina' is a common Spanish name.]

Melody isn't that common...

Not that it really matters what you name your kid. If she likes it, I guess it works, huh?

I had preferred to spell 'Vidia' with a 'y,' but Vanyel preferred otherwise.

Maybe Larry would let me give these two middle names! ...we didn't even discuss last names.

I had it in mind to ask about that, actually.

[A low chuckle.]

First, I'd like to suggest that under no circumstances should you follow suit and use both surnames.

[He thinks about that for a moment, and then gives Edgeworth a sly, mischievous little smirk.]

What? You don't want your nieces to be the Wright-Butz girls?
