LOLNOPE. Edgey has a new inbox now. Go there.

Room at various angles.

...Because Edgeworth is very well-off, there will be no question that he will request as much from the castle as he can to feel 'at home.' Therefore, his room will be inspired by a room of one of his favourite hotel suites - the Hazlitts in Soho, London. The hotel room is a bit smaller than it appears in the picture, but is extremely richly furnished and decorated. However, with opulence comes a price, as usual, and because of Edgeworth's fastidious tastes, the castle will inflict upon him at least one temporary loss per month. Unbeknownst to Edgeworth, of course.

At any given time, there will be a book or two on the bed, and others placed sporadically at various crevasses within the room. There is another, smaller partition of the room containing a couch, small table, and chair. There are a pair of small speakers, a heated blanket, a small fridge with at least two wine bottles, and a heating apparatus that doesn't emit microwaves. There's also a burgundy/blue chess set. There's no television, no futon, and of course, no Oldbag . There is a black box on the desk that requires not only a key to be opened, but a sliding puzzle to be solved. There's also a medium-sized kitchen. The bathroom is nothing particularly fascinating, as he doesn't spend enough time in there to feel the need to expend too much effort in decorating it, and it is much smaller than one may expect after seeing the room. There is, however, a clean bathtub lined with a few red/gold, unused candles.

[It takes a considerable time before he breaks the silence:]

...Why were you so Hell-bent on seeking me out after all these years?

[But he grins a little and stretches his legs out in front of himself.]

Because you made a really deep impression on me when we were children. I never forgot you... you were always really... important, to me. Inspiring.

It's an honor system. You'll just have to take my word for it. Besides... I'm sure you can tell when I'm speaking from the heart. Right?

[And another goofy little grin. He's always so sure he can tell when someone's telling the truth, anyway.]

I am sure you know by now that I tend to have a preference for tangible evidence.

The fact that I became a lawyer to find you isn't tangible enough?

[For a split second, there is a noticeable change in expression - one could perhaps say, 'slightly pained' - as he crosses his arms over his abdomen, similar to the gesture one would instinctively display upon having a stomachache...

His expression relaxes once again.]

Hmph. 'Phoenix Wright's Undying Persistence' has been added to the Court Record...

[That earns a real laugh, and for a moment he reaches as if to--what? Put an arm around Edgeworth, give him a friendly hug or pat on the shoulder, something... but he stops mid-motion and clears his throat.]

So... so. Truth or dare?

[He notes the hesitant gesture, all the while nearly wishing to communicate ...'It's okay...really, it is.'

...But for what reason would he expend that sort of effort?]

...'Truth,' of course.

Okay, okay. Let me think of a good one.

[He considers asking about Edgeworth's relationship with Vanyel--the truth about it--but he doesn't. It's nicer, in this moment of low light and soft laughter, believing there's nothing to it, anyway.]

Why did you really go to so much trouble to hurry back home when I fell off Dusky Bridge?

[Indeed, he would have thought it a very odd thing to inquire about. But at least the answer to this question is rather simple...]

...Larry had convinced me that you were at the end of your days, Wright.

...what, he said that?

Wait. That still doesn't really answer the question.]

...and you hurried back anyway? But why?

I had panicked. It is not a question I am sure to answer truthfully, as in said fit of panic, I may have acted a bit more irrationally than usual. Perhaps I wanted to assist in some way in order to possibly prevent the untimely demise Larry had so worried me about. Perhaps I wanted to simply have a chance to speak with you for the last time. I could not be certain at the time, neither am I entirely certain now.

[He blinks in surprise at that little outburst, but quickly dissolves into a warm smile.]

That's sweet, Miles. And... surprising, to hear it, but knowing that, I guess I believe you a little more readily when you say you really do consider me a friend.

[And it's good to know that he has someone so willing to be there for him, though the thought makes him blush and he curses that wine for it.]

...I am absolutely floored that you continue to doubt that.

Let me say something nice without you twisting it up to sound bad, would you?

Well, you did clearly seem to retain that element of doubt, one of which I've very much tried to quell.

[He exhales.]

...I suppose it is my turn to ask.

Give me a dare this time. Your truth questions are tough ones.

Very well. From here on, I dare you to not ask me, or have me do, anything humiliating.

If that's how you want it, I'm not playing--that's cheating.

[He chuckles.]

...Is it, now? It seems as though you indeed had something of the sort in mind.

That's so subjective--what you consider "humiliating" I might not.

Of course. I was merely referring to what I'd typically find humiliating. Though, I don't see how it matters, considering that I would be more inclined to select 'Truth,' and there really isn't anything I can think of that I'd be ashamed to share with you, at this point.

So you pick truth then?

[Might as well give Edgeworth a real preteen question for this silly game he's cheating in.]

Who was the last person you kissed?
